PAYING OUR RESPECTS TO GOOD FRIEND BILL SCHAIBLE...

It is with a heavy heart I post that longtime friend of the northeastern and extended Raceway Park drag racing family, Bill Schaible, passed away yesterday at 4:26EST, according to his brother Joe. Bill used to do some writing for Raceway News, as well as some publicist work with local race teams, and he used to drag race motorcycles during his younger years. Bill was sort of a "walking encyclopedia" veteran of the drag racing scene, yet he wasn't a blowhard about it -- that was a personality trait of Bill's that made him very likeable to me. He possessed a wry sense of humor that I certainly appreciated, and also an uncanny knowledge of rock 'n' roll and alternative music & art that always made for good conversation. He also loved and owned sports cars. Below I posted a photo of Bill from 2011 with Don Prudhomme. It's good to see a smile on his face in this pic. Bill was always nice to me. Both John Gill and myself were friends with Bill for decades. I know that I'm one of many people among you all, who are going to genuinely miss seeing our friend Bill at the drag strip. We'll always remember him. Rest In Peace...
